David Richard Semugabi(a.k.a DJ-D’ UG), is a self described reserved and laid back music spinning DJ. He prefers a simple, flexible and accomodative lifestyle.
Born in Kampala, Uganda, He currently resides in Washington.D.C. David attended Budo Junior School for his Primary education studies, and transfered to Busoga College Mwiri for Secondary School studies. DJD attended Makerere University in 1998.
Semugabi is an ardent soccer Fan, and excelled at the sport. He played for Coffee S.C during his Senior 4 vacation. He joined the famous SC Villa in 1999. In 2000 David earned a Soccer Scholarship to Virginia Intermont College, where he graduated with a Bachelors Degree. He Enrolled in the Graduate School at the University of Maryland (UMUC) and earned a Masters Degree in International Management(Finance) in 2008.
His music and DJ passion led him to work at the 2008 UNAA Convention in Orlando, Florida, USA. He also worked as the DJ for the 2009 UNAA Convention in Chicago, Illinois, USA.
Other DJ forays inclue: Washington DC Mayor’s Office of African Affairs, Ragga Dee, Blu3, Irene Namubiru, Bobby Wine, Mesach Semakula, Bebe Cool, Roni Banton and Dr. Propa, Pastor Wislon Bugembe. Madtrax and host to numerous celebrations.
DJD will be showcasing his music spinning Talents at the First Ugandan Diaspora Social Networking Event on December 29th, at the Serena Hotel. Doors open at 6:00pm.

The Uganda Diaspora Network is a forum aimed at bringing together Ugandans who live and work abroad by celebrating their contributions overseas and also encouraging them to give of their time, talents, ideas and expertise whilst inspiring the next generation of Ugandan leaders. Every year the Ugandan Diaspora Network will organize an annual Social Networking Gala and will also produce a quarterly publication highlighting the successes of the various Ugandans residing overseas.
