US Airforce Captain Lukiah Mulumba featured on MSNBC ~ “My daughter Carol beats the odds against sickle cell anemia. We were afraid she would never make it! The bone marrow and cord blood transplant from her HERO younger brother helped save her life. Thanks to the National Marrow Donor Program and the Cord Blood Registry , today my daughter Carol is healthy and helping raise awareness of bone marrow and cord blood transplant in sickle cell patients.”

A touching moment with Captain Lukiah talking about the support her Dad had given her through Education and love.

Captain Lukiah was recently honored in Uganda at the First Ugandan Diaspora Social Networking Event, for her great contribution to the fight against Sickle Cells and for being a mentor and inspiration to Ugandan and East African women. I was blessed that I was offered that option with my last born. I know it’s there if ever it’s needed. I hope more Mothers will take advantage of this service where it is available to them.
