Sowl Studios was created by Solomon and Nerissa Jagwe to provide content learning opportunities for their 2 children so they could become familiar with their rich and diverse Ugandan cultural heritage. Solomon was born and raised in Uganda.
He moved to the USA to pursue his Art Degree. That’s where he met his wife Kim, and they married in 2000.
Kim and Solomon talked at great length about the need to raise their future children with the knowledge of their African and Ugandan roots. They were soon blessed with a boy and girl and that’s where the journey to Sowl Studios began. As young parents, they tried to create and work/homelife balance while raising their two beautiful children.
Kim was a stay at home mom, and she needed a solution to help their kids learn Luganda. Solomon was inspired by this great need and he embarked on creating a children’s app. Thus, the birth of our digital children, Nkoza and Nankya.
Nkoza & Nankya is a Super Fun and Easy to use App and Series that helps kids and Parents learn Luganda Anywhere in the World. We are starting with Luganda, and as we grow, we will continue to add more languages.
This app features Luganda lessons, Games, Songs, Stories and Videos designed to serve as an EduTainment tool to help parents and kids share in a fun experience of learning about Uganda’s rich cultural heritage, folktales, singalongs, and languages.

The Uganda Diaspora Network is a forum aimed at bringing together Ugandans who live and work abroad by celebrating their contributions overseas and also encouraging them to give of their time, talents, ideas and expertise whilst inspiring the next generation of Ugandan leaders. Every year the Ugandan Diaspora Network will organize an annual Social Networking Gala and will also produce a quarterly publication highlighting the successes of the various Ugandans residing overseas.
