Camilla Barungi is a Ugandan supermodel who was featured on Project Runway, Season 3. Laura Bennett, considered Camilla her muse, and, looking at her clear complexion, legs that go on forever, and doe-shaped eyes, one can understand why.
Camilla Barungi’s past is one that was filled with sights related to the horrors of war and fighting in Uganda. In an interview with Project Runway, she talks about seeing skeletons being piled along the side of the road so that the media would document it and make the West take notice. She has come a long way!
Her ability to highlight the lines of a dress make her a hot commodity in the modeling field. Definitely an intelligent woman, we are sure to see a whole lot more of her as the years go by.
The Uganda Diaspora Network is a forum aimed at bringing together Ugandans who live and work abroad by celebrating their contributions overseas and also encouraging them to give of their time, talents, ideas and expertise whilst inspiring the next generation of Ugandan leaders. I studied with Camilla for some part of my primary education and all my secondary education. I am certainly proud of her achievements in this field. I feel proud that I attended school with her. I am trusting that she will continue to represent and hold the flag very, very high.
